In an unprecedented partnership between the publisher Aleph, the Brazilian artist and illustrator João Ruas and Estúdio Colletivo, the 50th anniversary edition was developed for the iconic book by Arthur C.Clarke 2001: A Space Odyssey. Funded entirely by the crowdfunding site Catarse, the project goes beyond the book itself and makes the reader part of the space saga, experiencing literature, art and science fiction in a unique way. The history and commemorative box is accompanied by the book made in the format of the monolith (key artifact of the story) and of a bone (another key element of the story), and thus, closing the connections between past, present and future.
